The government has released the prize money as per the sports policy to the players who made Haryana proud by performing brilliantly in Paris Olympics. The silver medal winner in Olympics was given Rs 4 crore and the bronze medal winner was given Rs 2.5 crore

Apart from this, all the players who participated in the Olympics have received Rs 15 lakh each. The players have confirmed that they have received this amount.
A program was to be held in Rohtak on August 17 for distribution of this amount by the government, but it was cancelled due to the code of conduct.
Deputy Director of the department Rajendra Gupta said that the amount has been sent to the players’ accounts. 8 players have become crorepatis and the rest have become lakhpatis.

25 players from Haryana participated in the Olympics. Out of which 4 players succeeded in winning medals in individual and 3 players in team hockey event. Neeraj Chopra won a silver medal while Manu Bhaker won two bronze medals. Whereas, Sarabjot Singh won a bronze medal. The government has also considered the performance of Vinesh Phogat, who reached the finals in 50 kg category in women’s wrestling, as a medal winning performance and gave her four crore rupees. Vinesh was disqualified after the semi-finals due to overweight.

Hockey player Sumit Kumar said that with a part of this amount, he will fulfill the basic needs of sports in the village. He will get housing built for his family in Paschvanarth.

The villagers gave rewards ranging from 100 to 21 thousand rupees
When Vinesh reached her village Balali, the villagers united and raised the prize money for Vinesh. Everyone, young and old, contributed generously, which included an amount ranging from Rs 100 from the village chowkidar to Rs 21,000 from the members of the Fauji Bhaichara group.

1. First Indian female wrestler to reach the Olympic finals
Vinesh Phogat played 3 matches in the 50 kg weight category on Tuesday. She defeated Tokyo Olympic champion Yui Susaki in the pre-quarterfinals. She defeated Ukraine in the quarterfinals and Cuba in the semifinals. Vinesh became the first Indian female wrestler to reach the finals.
After playing 3 matches till the semi-finals, he was fed food for protein and energy, which increased his weight to 52.700 kg.
2. Vinesh was 2.7 kg overweight
According to Indian Olympic team doctor Dinshaw Pardiwala, the team had only 12 hours to bring Vinesh’s weight back to 50kg. Vinesh did not sleep the whole night and kept doing exercises like jogging, skipping and cycling to bring her weight to the prescribed category. Vinesh even cut her hair and nails. Her clothes were also shortened.
3. It took only 15 minutes to lose weight, it was 100 grams more
Vinesh’s weight was checked again on Wednesday morning. After this, as per the rules, only 15 minutes were given, but in such a short time Vinesh’s weight could not be reduced to 50 kg. When the weight was finally checked, Vinesh’s weight was found to be 100 grams more than the prescribed limit. After the decision of the Olympic Committee, Vinesh’s health deteriorated. She was admitted to the hospital.
4. Also appealed against disqualification
Before announcing her retirement, Vinesh filed an appeal against her disqualification on Wednesday night. She demanded from the Court of Arbitration for Sports that she be jointly awarded the silver medal. Vinesh had earlier also demanded to play the final. Then she changed her appeal and now demanded to be jointly awarded the silver.
5. Vinesh retired, posted on social mediaVinesh announced her retirement from wrestling on Thursday morning. She announced this on social media (X) at 5.17 am on Thursday. Vinesh wrote in a 5-line post – “Maa wrestling won over me, I lost. Sorry, your dream, my courage, all are broken. I don’t have more strength now. 6. The appeal was dismissed on 14 August
On August 14, the Court of Arbitration for Sports rejected Vinesh Phogat’s petition. Vinesh Phogat had filed a petition demanding a silver medal.
