India A got its first win on the Australia tour.
India’s Women’s A team has got its first success on the Australia tour. The team defeated Australia-A by a huge margin of 171 runs in the third ODI on Sunday. India’s leg-spinner Priya Mishra took 5 wickets for just 14 runs.
India did win the third ODI of the series, but the team lost the series by a margin of 1-2. Earlier, Australia-A had won the 3 T20 series by 3-0.
India lost 3 wickets for 43 runs
Australia-A won the toss and chose to bowl first at the Mackay Stadium. India lost the wicket of opener Shweta Sehrawat in the second over. She could not even open her account. After her, Kiran Navgire scored 25 and Uma Chhetri scored 16 runs to steady the team. However, both were out at the team score of 43 runs.
Tejal Hasabnis played an innings of 50 runs.
Tejal and Raghavi hit fifty
After losing 3 wickets early, Tejal Hasabnis and Raghavi Bisht took charge of the team. Both of them made a century partnership and took the team to 147. Tejal was out after scoring 50 runs and Raghavi scored 53 runs. After losing 5 wickets at 165 runs, Sajeevan Sajna and captain Minnu Mani took the score past 200. Sajna scored 40 and Minnu scored 34 runs.
Raghavi Bisht scored 53 runs.
Maitlan Brown got 3 wickets
After a good start, the Indian women’s team collapsed in the death overs. The team could only score 243 runs after losing 9 wickets. From Australia, Matlan Brown took 3 wickets, Nicola Hancock and Charlie Knott got 2-2 wickets. Tess Flintoff and Kate Peterson got 1-1 success.
Australia have a bad start
While chasing the target of 244 runs, Australia-A had a bad start. The team lost 2 wickets at the score of 20 runs. Meghna Singh and Yashashree Sandhopani got 1-1 wickets. After the power play was over, Priya Mishra came to bowl. She took 5 wickets for just 14 runs and Australia lost 9 wickets at the score of 72 runs.
Captain Minnu Mani took 2 wickets and Australia-A’s innings was reduced to 72 runs. Saiqa Ishak from India also got a success. 3 batsmen from Australia-A could not even open the account, while 5 batsmen could not score more than 6 runs. Maddie Dark scored 22 and Tess Flintoff scored 20 runs.
Priya Mishra took 5 wickets for 14 runs.
One Test left on the tour
The three format series between India-A and Australia-A is being played from August 7. Australia-A won the T20 series 3-0 and the ODI series 2-1. Now a 4-day test will be played between the two teams in Gold Coast from August 22.
