Tiruvallur: An express train collided with a goods train at Kavarapettai railway station in the district. After the accident, two AC coat coaches of Darbhanga Express train caught fire. Railway sources say that the Darbhanga Express train collided with the rear of a goods train already standing on the railway track. According to the information received so far, two bogies have caught fire, while three bogies have derailed. The accident has mostly affected the goods train. Some passengers are also said to be injured in the accident. At present the fire cannot be controlled yet. Relief and rescue work is being done.

Fire broke out in two AC coaches

According to the information received, this accident happened near Kavaraipettai railway station at around 08:30 pm on Friday evening. During the accident, a goods train was already standing on the same track on which the Darbhanga Express train was going. Due to the darkness of the night, the loco pilot could not see the goods train and the train collided with the goods train from behind. After the accident, five to six coaches of the train derailed. Two AC coaches also caught fire. NDRF team is also reaching the spot. Relief and rescue work is being done. At present efforts are being made to control the fire. So far 10 injured have been admitted to the hospital.

Any information related to the injured or train accident can be obtained by calling these numbers. At present, train traffic on the train route has also been affected.
