Kyiv: Russia is continuously making deadly attacks on Ukraine. Russia targeted entire Ukraine with missiles and drones on the intervening night of Monday-Tuesday, killing at least two people. After these attacks, firing started on the outskirts of the capital Kiev. Officials gave information about this on Tuesday. Just a day before this, Russia had targeted Ukraine’s power plants. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned these attacks by Russia.
Drone and missile attacks were thwarted
According to Aleksandr Vilkul, the chief military junta administrator of Ukraine’s southern mining and industrial city of Kryvyi Rih, the attacks were aimed at a residential building. After the Russian attack on Monday, power supply in the Kiev region was cut off and an air raid alert was issued at least five times during the night. The regional administrator said that the air defense system thwarted all attacks by Russia with drones and missiles, but the debris caused a forest fire.
Ukraine appeals to allied countries
President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday denounced Russia’s launch of more than 100 missile and drone attacks as “abhorrent,” saying the attacks damaged civilian infrastructure and targeted much of the country. “Once again, Russian terrorists have targeted energy infrastructure,” Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. He urged Ukraine’s allies to provide it with long-range weapons and allow it to use them against targets inside Russia. (AP)
