One of the most popular sitcoms ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ has been in the news for all the wrong reasons many times in the last one year. The show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi has been dragged into controversies by many actors and actresses. Recently Palak Sidhwani also left the show and made shocking allegations against the producer. Now, Modi has finally broken his silence on the matter. For the first time, he has openly expressed his views on this controversy.
Asit Modi is sad about this
Speaking to ETimes, Asit Modi said that he considers Palak Sidhwani as his daughter. The producer said, ‘I am very saddened by Palak’s departure because I consider her like a daughter and have always taken care of her and will continue to do so.’ Further talking about the legal action taken against Sidhwani, who played the character of Sonu, he said, ‘As far as the ongoing Palak case is concerned, the matter is being dealt with legally. We have to maintain discipline on the set. If you are already working with an organization, will you be allowed to do other work? No, right? Similarly, we also have some rules because we have to shoot 26 episodes every month.
Denied all allegations
Several actors of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, including Shailesh Lodha and Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, have accused the show makers of not paying their dues, refusing to grant leave even for personal emergencies and harassing them for work. According to the show’s producer Asit Kumar Modi, all the actors are given personal leave as he believes that they should spend adequate time with their families. He told that whenever someone from our cast wanted to take leave, they were given leave every now and then, but they had to work for a few hours before their leave. Modi also pointed out that no actor has ever raised any issue regarding payment.
