The romance between Shilpa Shinde and Romit Raj began in 2007 on the sets of their show ‘Maikaa’. By 2009, the two were engaged and wedding preparations were underway. However, Shinde had a change of mind and broke off the engagement immediately. In an interview with ETimes TV, Shilpa Shinde spoke about her decision to end the engagement. She revealed that at that time, she felt she was too young to get married and despite pressure from her parents and relatives, she stuck to her decision. Shinde also revealed that during her stint in ‘Bigg Boss 11’, Romit’s family had become too demanding. This was also the reason why she decided to end the engagement.

All I can say is that whatever happened was for the best.’ Shilpa, who recently got eliminated from the reality show ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi 14’, has previously been the winner of ‘Bigg Boss 11′. During her time in Bigg Boss, she got a lot of support from the people, but she was also embroiled in controversies related to Vikas Gupta and Hina Khan. Romit, who is now seen in the role of Rohit Poddar in Star Plus’ popular serial ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’.
