Heavy rains have caused havoc in Himachal Pradesh. 8 people died due to cloudburst in many districts of the state. More than 50 people are missing. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rains in many districts of the state. The local administration has become alert about this. After heavy rains, incidents of landslides have increased in high altitude areas. All mountain rivers are in spate. Tourists have been advised not to go out in heavy rains.

6 died in Shimla and Kullu districts

DC Rana, Special Secretary, State Disaster Management Department, said that cloudburst has caused widespread devastation in Samej area of ​​Shimla district, Rampur area, Baghipul area of ​​Kullu and Paddar area of ​​Mandi. 53 people are missing and 6 bodies have been recovered. More than 60 houses have been washed away. Many villages have been badly affected by the floods. NDRF and SDRF have rescued the stranded people.

Cloud burst in Kullu, Mandi and Shimla

Two bodies were recovered from Rajban village in Mandi and one from Nirmand in Kullu after a cloudburst triggered flash floods in three Himachal districts – Kullu, Mandi and Shimla – on Wednesday night. Around 300 people stranded around Shrikhand Mahadev in Kullu are safe and around 25 tourists stranded in Malana are being well taken care of by the locals.

CM spoke to the victims

Officials said that the rescue operation was carried out with the help of drones by the Army, NDRF, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, State Disaster Response Force, police and Home Guard personnel. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, along with Education Minister Rohit Thakur, visited Samej on the border of Shimla and Kullu districts to take stock of the situation and spoke to the victims.

The government will give 5 thousand rupees per month to the victims

CM Sukhu said that rescuing people is the first priority of the state. The missing people include 17-18 women and 8-9 children. The Chief Minister announced an immediate relief of Rs 50,000 for the victims and also said that they will be given Rs 5,000 per month for rent for the next three months. Cooking gas, food and other essential items will also be provided.
