Lucknow: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi is preparing to visit Sambhal on Wednesday along with Congress MPs from Uttar Pradesh. Giving information about this on Tuesday, party’s state president Ajay Rai said that party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi can also accompany Rahul on this tour. Meanwhile, Sambhal DM Rajendra Pensia has written a letter to the police officers posted in neighboring districts, urging them to stop Rahul Gandhi on the borders of their districts.
‘There will be 6 MPs from UP in the delegation’
State Congress President Ajay Rai, reacting to the release of the DM’s letter, said that this is a murder of democracy and open misuse of the police system. Rai said that party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi can also visit Sambhal along with Rahul. He said, ‘All 6 party MPs from Uttar Pradesh will be included in the delegation, which will be led by Rahul Gandhi. Party general secretary and state in-charge Avinash Pandey will also be in the delegation. The state Congress chief said that he too will be fine with Rahul. When asked whether Priyanka Gandhi, the party’s MP from Wayanad, Kerala, would also accompany her brother, Rai said that she too could go.
Section 163 imposed in Sambhal till December 10
Meanwhile, Sambhal DM Pensia on Tuesday wrote a letter to the police commissioners of Gautam Buddha Nagar and Ghaziabad and the SPs of Amroha and Bulandshahr districts, urging them to stop Rahul Gandhi at the borders of their districts. The ban on entry of outsiders into Sambhal was ending on Saturday, however Pensia has extended it to December 10. Meanwhile, the DM has said that to maintain peace and order, Section 163 (prohibitory order) of BNSS will remain in force in the district till December 31. Pensia said, ‘Till December 10, no outsider, social organization or public representative can enter the district without permission from the competent authority.’
The temple claims the place of the mosque
Let us tell you that on November 24, on the orders of a court in Sambhal, violence broke out during the survey of a Mughal era mosque. Four people were killed in this incident while many others were injured. In the suit filed in the court, it has been claimed that there used to be a Harihar temple in place of the mosque. When asked about Rahul’s visit to Sambhal, district SP Krishna Kumar said, ‘Section 163 of BNSS is already in force in Sambhal. No one is allowed to come to their senses. If he comes, he will be given notice. (Language)
