Why is this trip important?
Tanmay Lal, Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs, termed Prime Minister Modi’s visit as important. This visit is taking place at a time when 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries are also being completed. He also said that a unique relationship between India and Poland dates back to the time of World War II during the 1940s, when more than six thousand women and children of Poland took refuge in two princely states of India – Jamnagar and Kolhapur.
After Poland, PM Modi will go to Ukraine
