1. Frequent urge to urinate

2. Feeling thirsty frequently

Frequent urination occurs due to the kidney function to remove sugar. Due to which more fluid is removed from the body, in such a situation the body can become dehydrated. To compensate for this, you experience frequent thirst.

3. Feeling hungry frequently

When blood sugar levels increase, regular diet is not able to meet the energy requirement of the body. In diabetic patients, sufficient amount of glucose is not able to travel through the blood stream and reach the body cells, due to which energy levels are felt to be low. To meet this, the body craves to eat more, and you feel hungry.

4. Feeling of fatigue

7. Tingling and lethargy in hands and feet

To control blood sugar, consume sugar in limited quantities and choose complex carbohydrates such as vegetables, oatmeal, and whole grains.

2. Quit smoking

Smoking can contribute to insulin resistance, which increases the risk of type 2 diabetes. Quitting smoking will help reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes.

3. Portion control is important

4. Aim for 30 minutes

Try to keep yourself active by participating in physical activities like walking, dancing, weight lifting or swimming for 30 minutes 5 days a week. Drinking water instead of other beverages helps control blood sugar and insulin levels, which reduces the risk of diabetes. Drinking enough water also helps you avoid beverages that are loaded with sugar, preservatives, and other unnecessary ingredients.

Getting plenty of fiber promotes gut health and helps with weight management. Including plenty of fiber-rich foods in your diet regularly can help prevent a rise in blood sugar and insulin levels. Thus, your risk of diabetes is also reduced.
