Actress and fitness influencer Sakshi Malik not only acts well, but also pays full attention to her fitness. Yoga and dance helped her the most in her fitness wellness. Both of these helped Sakshi Malik deal with many challenges of life including weight loss.

Most people recognize Sakshi Malik from the catchy song Bom Diggy Diggy from the 2018 film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. She has also worked in music videos – Veham and Mulakat. Fitness lovers active on social media know her as an influencer. Sakshi inspires people to sweat it out. She has seven million followers on Instagram, who would love to have a figure like her. 24-year-old fitness freak and actress Sakshi Malik did not always love her body. In an interview with Health Shots, Sakshi Malik shared many things about her life and fitness. She spoke openly about weight issues and the importance of yoga and dance in life (Sakshi Malik fitness journey).

Acting started during COVID-19 (Sakshi Malik acting career)

Sakshi Malik shares, ‘Honestly, I never thought that Bom Diggy Diggy would be such a big milestone in my career. I will always be grateful for the way it happened. When this song was filmed, I was very new to the industry. So I was not ready to take things from there. After its success, I wanted to take a break and focus on other aspects of my career.

Till then Sakshi was not even sure about a career in the entertainment industry. Her father is from IIT. He always wanted Sakshi to continue her studies. She was exploring things. She started acting during Covid-19. After Covid, she took acting more seriously. She did several acting workshops with a film acting trainer.

Dance and yoga made a means of staying fit (Sakshi malik dance and yoga)

Yoga and dance became an integral part of Sakshi Malik’s life. Sakshi Malik says, ‘These not only keep me physically fit, but also mentally and emotionally balanced. Yoga helps me relax and relieve stress, while dance allows me to express myself creatively. Both have helped me deal with various challenges in my life and have become a source of inspiration for many.’

It was not easy for Sakshi Malik to shift to a new city at a young age. She was always pampered at home. So when she started living alone, it became quite challenging for her. She often ate sweet foods. She even started emotional eating.

Worried about increasing weight (extra weight)

She started feeling very self-conscious about her increasing weight. She started hating her body. She somehow motivated herself to eat healthy food and get fit. While fitness helped her achieve her physical goals and become strong, yoga and dance helped her stay calm and get rid of emotional eating. Dance keeps her happy and yoga keeps her focused. Meditation and yoga help to bring out the inner shine and keep her happy.

Sakshi Malik usually does cardio, strength training and yoga. Her favourite exercises include squats, lunges, push-ups, planks, burpees and mountain climbers. She also likes doing yoga asanas like warrior pose, tree pose and downward dog.

She also does Shirshasana for 5 minutes every morning. Being an influencer brings many challenges for Sakshi Malik. She always manages negative comments or criticism, online presence and follows truthfulness towards her brand values. Sakshi Malik says, ‘It is important to be authentic to yourself and at the same time it is important to know what impact your content has on followers.’

Mental health in priority (Sakshi Malik prioritize mental health)

She says, ‘Creating content for social media can be overwhelming at times. Especially when dealing with negative comments or criticism. It is important to take breaks when needed and prioritise your mental health above everything else. I try to limit my use of social media and focus on other aspects of my life as well.’

Finally, Sakshi Malik says, ‘Many fitness influencers give tips on workout routines and staying fit, but I prefer to focus on inspiring people through my journey rather than instructing.’
