In the 2022 mega auction, Mumbai Indians bought Archer for Rs 8 crore.

England fast bowler Joffra Archer has been included again in the IPL auction list. A few days ago, his name was not included in the list of 574 players shortlisted for the IPL mega auction.

According to Cricinfo, information about Jofra Archery’s inclusion in the IPL auction has been sent to the teams on Thursday. However, no official statement has come from IPL regarding this yet.

The IPL mega auction will be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The names of Joffra Archer, his teammate Mark Wood and Australian all-rounder Cameron Green were not in the list of 574 shortlisted players sent to IPL teams on November 15. A lot of questions were being raised due to their names not being in the list, because all three players had registered at the base price of Rs 2 crore each.

ECB gave NOC to Archer after talks with BCCI When Jofra Archer’s name was not included in the shortlist of players, there were reports that the England and Wales Cricket Board had withdrawn his name keeping in mind the Test series against India to be held next year and other important tournaments. According to Cricinfo, after talks between ECB and BCCI, NOC has been given to him. Archer is included in the central contract of ECB. His contract is till September next year. In such a situation, it is necessary for them to take NOC from ECB to play the league.

IPL made changes in the rules this time Last year, the ECB had barred Archer from participating in the IPL auction so that he does not make a hasty comeback from injury. However, if he is stopped this year, he will not be able to participate in IPL till 2027. IPL has made changes in the auction rules this year. Under the new rule, players who have previously participated in the league but did not register for the mega-auction will not be allowed to register for the next mini-auction. If a player is bought in the auction and withdraws his name without any valid reason, he will be banned for two years.

Archer has returned from injury this year The 29-year-old Archer has made a comeback from injury this year and was part of the England team in the white-ball series against Pakistan, Australia and West Indies. He played all three ODI matches on the recent Caribbean tour. Archer was injured during the Bangladesh tour in March 2023.

In the 2022 mega auction, Mumbai Indians bought Archer for Rs 8 crore. However, he did not play a single match that season due to injury. Archer played five matches for Mumbai Indians in 2023 and took two wickets.
