A shocking case of suicide of a software engineer has come to light in the Electronic City area of Bengaluru. 24-year-old Yagnik committed suicide by swallowing helium gas in a hotel room. The deceased was a resident of Sakleshpur, who worked in Wipro company. The reason for his suicide is not yet known. Police is investigating the matter.
Was working from home for 4 years
According to the police, Yagnik, originally from Sakleshpur in Hassan district, had booked a room in a hotel in Electronic City. Yagnik had been working from home for the last 4 years and used to come to the office located in Sarjapur area of Bengaluru 1 or 2 times a month as per the office requirement.
The view of the room was astonishing
According to the family members, Yagnik left Hassan for Bangalore on August 16 saying that he had to prepare for his M Tech exams and would stay in a hotel. He rented a room in a hotel on Neeladri Road and said that he would check out on August 20. But when he did not come out of his room on Tuesday, the hotel staff made all efforts to call him. When the room was opened with the master key, it was seen that Yagnik’s face was covered with a black polythene and a pipe from a small cylinder kept next to the bed was inside his mouth.
He himself brought the helium gas cylinder and pipe
The police and forensic team that reached the spot confirmed that Yagnik died due to swallowing helium gas. Police investigation revealed that Yagnik entered his room with a bag at 11:30 pm on Monday night. He had brought a small cylinder of helium gas and a pipe in the same bag. The police have not found any suicide note from the room. The police is questioning the family.
