Champai Soren met Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma was also present with him. CM Himanta has informed that former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and eminent tribal leader of our country Champai Soren met Union Home Minister Amit Shah a short while ago. Champai will officially join BJP in Ranchi on August 30.
Had announced not to leave politics
Champai Soren had recently said that he will not retire from politics. It is important for him to remain in politics to complete the unfinished work. Champai Soren had said that he will take a decision on his political future within a week. Champai had given two options – first, to form a separate organization or if he finds a partner, then he will move forward with him.

Hemant Soren was arrested in a money laundering case related to the land scam. Hemant resigned from the post of CM after which Champai Soren was made the new CM of Jharkhand. After getting bail from the Jharkhand High Court, Hemant Soren was again elected the leader of the legislative party. After this, Champai Soren submitted his resignation to the Governor. Then Hemant Soren became the CM of Jharkhand. A few days after this, Champai openly expressed his displeasure.
