Dhankhar scolded the MPs who were creating ruckus.
Criticizing the MPs who were creating ruckus, Dhankhar said that the interest of the farmers will not be served by sloganeering and shedding crocodile tears. He told the sloganeering members of Congress and other opposition parties that you are only politicizing it. You don’t want solutions. Farmers are your last priority. The Chairman said that due to the uproar in the House last week, no work could be done and it was regretful that during that time not a single notice was given on the issue of farmers.
Stopping the opposition members who were creating ruckus, Dhankhar said that in future I will keep in mind that your assurance was a strategy. I gave you permission on the assurance that you will follow decorum and discipline.
Opposition walked out of Rajya Sabha
After this, Congress and some other opposition parties walked out of the Rajya Sabha in protest against the government’s alleged anti-farmer policies and not fulfilling the promise of increasing the MSP. Before this, Congress members raised slogans. It is alleged that Jagdeep Dhankhar had rejected the notice seeking suspension of the day’s scheduled business under Rule 267 to discuss the farmers’ issue.
Congress MP Pramod Tiwari said that the government has not fulfilled its promise of increasing the MSP and due to this the farmers have to agitate again. He alleged that the government has also not fulfilled other promises made to the farmers. Without naming Dhankhar, Tiwari said that even a person holding a high constitutional post has raised his voice for the farmers.
