Citing a report by The New Indian Express, TelecomTalk has written that BSNL’s 4G services are expected to start in October 2024.

Report According to, the results of BSNL 4G trials have been quite satisfactory. Apart from this, the company is also asking its users to swap or upgrade their 4G SIM. Only by doing this will 4G services be accessed.

According to the report, a senior officer of the company said that we have successfully tested our 4G network in all circles and major cities. The results have been promising. The time has come for us to start our commercial 4G services.

Earlier, Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had said that the number of BSNL subscribers is increasing. He had said that the company has prepared an indigenous 4G network, which is being worked on to upgrade to 5G.

Scindia had said that under ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, a 4G network using indigenous technology is ready and in a few months its service will be available across the country through BSNL. He said, “When Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel launched 4G networks, many people asked why not BSNL? It was the Prime Minister’s resolve that if we have to develop the network of the government telecom company, then we will not use equipment from China or any other country.” It was decided that an indigenous technology would be developed.
