Television heartthrob Gaurav Khanna who became a household name with the daily soap ‘Anupama’. He has finally announced his exit from the show. His most talked about character Anuj Kapadia was missing from the show for the last few months and while rumors were flying that the actor has left the show. Now he has finally spoken openly on this and told the truth. Many actors have already left ‘Anupama’ due to the leap and now Gaurav himself has told why he is leaving the role of Anuj Kapadia.

After being away from the sets of ‘Anupama’ for two months, Gaurav Khanna finally talked about his future in the show. Speaking to ETimes, Gaurav said, ‘People are constantly asking me about my return to Anupamaa. Rajan sir (producer Rajan Shahi) had discussed a grand comeback for the role and we waited for it for two months. However, the story had to move forward and it did not make sense to wait any longer. He also felt that the time had come for me to find something bigger.

Gaurav Khanna further said, ‘So, for now Anuj’s chapter is closed, but I do not see it as a full stop, but as a comma. If the story demands and my schedule allows, I will be happy to come back. He further said that his role was to be a cameo for three months, but it became a wonderful part of my career and I stayed in the show for three years. Got a lot of love from the audience also.

Leaving the show because of Rupali Ganguly

When asked about rumors of rift with ‘Anupama’ lead actress Rupali Ganguly, Gaurav Khanna said, ‘I do not participate in counter-interviews or react to rumours. What matters is the work we have done together. I have always focused on my work and whatever happens beyond ‘action’ and ‘cut’ is not important to me.
