Amravati: Chandrababu Naidu government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a big decision. The government has dissolved the state Waqf Board. The government has withdrawn GO-47. State Justice and Minority Welfare Minister Farooq has said that this decision has been taken as per the order of the State High Court.
What else did Farooq say?
Minister Farooq said that the coalition government has issued an order to withdraw the Waqf Board GO No. 47 issued by the Minority Welfare Department during the reign of the previous government. It is reported that the Minority Welfare Department has issued GO number 75, canceling the GO issued during the previous government.
On October 21, 2023, the then government had issued GO No. 47 nomination for the formation of Waqf Board. Ruhullah (MLC), Hafeez Khan (MLA), Sheikh Khaza, Nominated Members Qadir Basha, Meera Huhsain, Shafi Ahmed Qadri, Shereen Begum (IPS), Barakat Ali, Jai Nazir Basha, Patan Shafi Ahmed, Haseena Begum of the Waqf Board. Was formed.
But some people approached the State High Court regarding the manner of these appointments. Along with this, the High Court has issued an interim order on November 1, 2023, putting a stay on the selection process of Waqf Board Chairman. Due to this, various legal issues have arisen and an administrative vacuum has come up in the Waqf Board.
To solve this problem, the coalition government considered the High Court judgment and canceled the controversial GO-47 issued by the previous government and issued a new GO-75. Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Farooq said the CM Chandrababu-led coalition government is committed to the management, conservation and welfare of Waqf properties and the government will take steps in that direction. He said that welfare of minorities is possible only with a coalition government.
