AIMIM MLA’s statement on Waqf Board Amendment Bill

Former AIMIM MLA Waris Pathan has given a statement regarding the Waqf Board Amendment Bill. He said that we have been saying this since long. We have always suspected the intentions of BJP and RSS to be flawed. They hate everything about us. They hate our mosques, namaz, madrasas and hijab. Now they have brought in the Waqf Board. The Waqf Act 1995 exists. It has been amended in 2013, yet somehow by bringing amendments in it, there is so much property of Waqf which is for Muslims. How to reduce it, how to acquire it.

Can’t do anything with Waqf property

He said that the Supreme Court has already said that once a waqf will always be waqf. Neither can you sell it nor can a third party claim it. Nothing can be done. Many of our elders donated their property to the waqf. Mosques, madrasas, graveyards have been built on them. When a person makes his property a waqf, there are many government procedures. After that the government’s gazette comes and then the notification is issued. But BJP and RSS want to interfere in that too.

The government wants to acquire the Waqf property

Waris Pathan said that when the government had issued the notification for the survey in the year 2022, we had opposed it even then saying that their intentions are wrong. Their rule is to acquire our property. This was their intention and now they are going to bring a bill in the Parliament. Let’s see what happens in the Parliament. But there are so many madrasas and mosques, as we have heard from the media that there is a dispute on how many of them. This is being done to know. If there is a dispute on any property, then the court will decide it. Why do you want to weaken the power of the court and the Waqf Board. This means that you want to acquire the property of the Waqf. Let’s see what bill comes in the Parliament. We will talk about them later.
