Nagpur: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Saturday revealed an incident of refusing the PM post. During a program, he said that once a leader had offered him support if he joined the race for the post of Prime Minister, but he had turned down the offer. Gadkari said that he had turned down the offer of support for the PM post saying that he did not have any such desire. Let us tell you that Nitin Gadkari had attended a journalism award ceremony. During this, he also honored journalists.

Gadkari narrated the story of being offered the post of PM

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said, “I remember an incident – I will not take anyone’s name. That person had said that if you are going to become the Prime Minister, we will support you.” However, he did not tell when this incident happened. The senior BJP leader said, “But, I asked why should you support me and why should I take your support? Becoming the Prime Minister is not the goal of my life. I am loyal to my beliefs and my organization and I will not compromise for any post because my determination is most important for me.”

Four senior journalists were honored

In his speech, Gadkari emphasised the importance of ethics in both journalism and politics. Gadkari also honoured four senior journalists with the Anilkumar Award for Excellence in Journalism 2023-24 at the ceremony. The journalists who were honoured by Nitin Gadkari are Vivek Deshpande, Ramu Bhagwat, Srimant Mane and Ram Bhakre.
