Rohan Bopanna and Indonesia’s Aldila Sutjiadi have made it to the mixed doubles semi-finals at the US Open 2024. On September 2, they defeated Matthew Ebden and Barbora Krejcikova 7-6 (7-4), 2-6, 10-7 in one hour and 33 minutes on Court 5.

Bopanna and Sutjiadi were trailing 3-0 in the opening set, but they won in the tie-breaker. Krejcikova and Ebden played brilliantly, taking the match to the deciding round. The 8th seeded pair Bopanna and Sutjiadi played with full force in the tie-breaker of the third set and took a huge lead of 6-0. After this, Ebden and Krejcikova could not make a comeback.

44-year-old Bopanna and 29-year-old Sutjiadi will next face Taylor Townsend and Donald Young of America. They defeated the pair of Harri Heliovaara and Anna Danilina 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 10-8 in the quarter-finals. Rohan Bopanna’s semi-final match will be played at the Lewis Armstrong Stadium.
