What is fart walk?

As the name suggests, the purpose of this walk is to provide an opportunity to release farts. Physiotherapist Dr. Garima Bhatia explains that Fart Walk is done in the same way as a brisk walk. Walking after eating instead of yoga and stretching is beneficial for the body. A 60-minute walk is done to avoid indigestion. But keeping in mind the body stamina, this walk can also be done for 15 to 20 minutes.

Wearing comfortable shoes and taking a slow walk not only boosts metabolism but also provides relief from indigestion. Walking fast increases fatigue in the body. In such a situation, go for a normal walk at a slow pace after eating. Post dinner walk is necessary for everyone from children to the elderly.

During a walk after eating, one has to face the process of farting, which benefits the GI tract and the problem of indigestion starts to get solved. Actually, there is a lot of fiber in the diet at night and during a walk, the gastrointestinal tract i.e. the digestive system starts functioning properly. Walking provides many benefits to the body.

Let us understand how this came into practice

Fart walks are gaining popularity these days, thanks to Toronto-based cookbook author Marilyn Smith. Known as the Queen of Fiber, Smith says that a 60-minute walk after a night of fiber-rich diet helps the body avoid indigestion, gas, bloating and acidity. Farting during a walk is an easy way to release intestinal gas.

Know how fart walk is beneficial

1. Increases intestinal motility

Walking helps maintain a healthy weight, improve cardiovascular fitness and increase energy levels. In fact, walking boosts the digestive system. It helps move food through the large intestine with the help of muscle contractions. This empties the GI tract and strengthens digestion.

2. The problem of bloating will be solved

Physical activity brings regularity in bowel movements. This helps in releasing excess gas. Actually, excessive amount of gas in the body increases the problem of bloating. With the help of walking, the internal pressure on the stomach increases, due to which gas starts getting released easily.

3. Control blood sugar level

According to research by the American Diabetes Association, people suffering from diabetes are advised to walk for 30 minutes a day. This helps in regulating blood sugar levels and maintains proper blood circulation.
