London: The body of Britain’s famous technology entrepreneur Mike Lynch was found in the wreckage of a boat in Sicily, which has created a stir in the whole country. He was missing for several days. He was feared dead in a boat accident. Now sources have claimed that Mike Lynch’s body has been found. However, no official confirmation has been made about this yet. According to sources, the body of 59-year-old British technology entrepreneur Mike Lynch has been found from the wreckage of a boat that sank off the coast of Sicily. While his daughter Hannah is still missing. According to NBC, Sky News had earlier reported that the five bodies recovered from the wreckage have been identified by the Italian Coast Guard and Lynch is among them.

Lynch was reported missing on Monday. He was one of 22 passengers on the Bayesian superyacht that capsized while anchored for fishing off the small village of Porticello in the Italian province of Palermo. Salvatore Cocina, head of the civil protection agency in Sicily, confirmed that five bodies had been recovered from the wreck. So far, the only Canadian dead named by authorities is Antiguan chef Rocaldo Thomas. The bodies of the others could not be confirmed.

Who was Lynch?

Lynch was the founder of enterprise software firm Autonomy. He became the target of a long-running legal battle with Hewlett Packard after the company accused him of inflating the value of Autonomy in its $11.7 billion sale. However, HP took an $8.8 billion write-down on the value of the company within a year of buying it. Lynch was surprisingly acquitted of fraud charges in June in a US court after a nearly three-month trial. He earlier faced charges of alleged wire fraud and conspiracy to inflate Autonomy’s revenue. Lynch denied wrongdoing and told jurors that HP had botched the integration of Autonomy.

Lynch was also the founder of Invoke Capital, a venture capital firm supporting European tech startups. He became a prominent voice supporting the UK technology industry, backing major names such as cybersecurity firm Darktrace and legal tech firm Luminance.
