Major action has been taken against terrorists in India’s neighboring enemy country Pakistan. Pakistani security forces on Sunday killed 11 suspected terrorists, including a commander of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in two operations in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Terrorists killed in Lakki Marwat district
These operations were conducted in the troubled Tirah Valley of Khyber district and Lakki Marwat district after receiving information about the presence of terrorists. A group of terrorists were moving through Tirah Valley via Peer Mela when they were stopped by security forces. In the exchange of fire that followed, 10 terrorists were killed while four others were injured.
Police and CTD launched joint operation
Sources said that the killed terrorists also included a commander who was leading the group. In the second incident, police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Lakki Marwat district conducted a joint operation in Shagai area. One terrorist was killed during the exchange of fire.
Ammunition recovered from killed terrorists
Ammunition has also been recovered from the killed terrorists. One deceased terrorist has been identified as Asif Ali, who was a close aide of notorious banned commander Inamullah alias Lamba. Inamullah was a high-profile terrorist who was allegedly involved in several bomb blasts.
