Sao Paulo: A bus full of passengers was seriously injured in a collision in south-eastern Brazil. The accident occurred on a highway in Minas Gerais state in south-eastern Brazil. Here 38 people died in the collision between a bus and a truck. The officers provided this information. The Minas Gerais fire department said 13 other people injured in the accident on Saturday morning were taken to hospitals near the town of Teofilo Otoni.

It is being told that the bus had left from Sao Paulo and there were 45 passengers on board. Officials said that the cause of the accident will be clear only after investigation. Eyewitnesses told the rescue team that the bus went out of control due to a burst tire and collided with a truck. During the accident, a car also collided with the bus, there were three passengers in the car and the lives of all three were saved.

President expressed grief

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva expressed deep condolences over the deaths in this horrific road accident. He issued a statement on Saturday saying, “I am extremely sorry and I express my condolences to the families of those killed in the accident.” According to the Transport Ministry, more than 10 thousand people have died in traffic accidents in Brazil this year.
