America False Rape Case: The purpose of law is to punish criminals. But many times such cases also come to light in which these laws are misused and innocent people are proven guilty. A similar incident had happened in America 18 years ago. In fact, in 2006, a woman had accused three players of America’s Duke University of rape. In 2006, this matter became a topic of discussion in the American media.
truth accepted by woman
The name of the woman who has accused three players of rape is Crystal Mangum, who is a black woman. The woman has now publicly admitted that she had lied and fabricated the rape story. Mangum said in an interview with the ‘Let’s Talk with Kat’ podcast that she had fabricated a story that was not true. The players accused of rape were white and had attended a party where Crystal Mangum performed as a stripper.
No evidence found
Mangum, 46, said I committed perjury against him by saying he raped me when he did not, the Associated Press reported. The names of those who were accused of rape are David Evans, Colin Finnerty and Reed Seligman. The case continued in the court for a long time, although later the truth came out that the allegations were false. No DNA, witnesses or other evidence was found to corroborate Mangum’s story.
‘All three will forgive’
Interestingly, shortly thereafter Mangum herself was found guilty of murder. An interview with the ‘Let’s Talk with Kat’ podcast was conducted last month at a women’s rehab center in North Carolina. Mangum has been imprisoned in this rehab center for fatally attacking her boyfriend in 2011. Mangum will now be released from prison in early 2026. In the interview, Mangum said he hoped the three men would forgive him, saying they did not deserve this punishment.
