Union Minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) party chief Chirag Paswan expressed his opinion on the ongoing controversy over Ajmer Sharif as well as RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s appeal to give birth to three children. Addressing a press conference, Chirag Paswan said on the issue of Ajmer Sharif that if the claims are false then there is no need to fear, the court will take care of it. However, if there is a bitter truth, it must also be brought out. At the same time, Chirag has also talked about the issue of population.

What did Chirag say on the dispute of 3 children?

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat had reportedly said that every woman should give birth to ‘at least three children’. On his statement, Chirag said that Mohan Bhagwat has only expressed concern about the decline in population. Chirag said- “It is a fact that a very low fertility rate can lead to the extinction of a species. He (Bhagwat) has expressed concern over this. The fertility rate has fallen below 2.1 in many parts of the country, That should be debated, just as it was in the past, when family planning measures had to be taken due to the explosive rate of population growth.”

Chirag Paswan also expressed his opinion on Ajmer Sharif being said to be built on the site of a Shiva temple. Chirag said- “If false claims are being made, then no one needs to be afraid, because the court will take care of it. But, if there is a bitter truth, then it must also be brought out.” When Chirag was asked whether similar claims are being made about the Taj Mahal, Chirag said, “I cannot comment on all such claims, because I am not an investigating agency.” But we can be rest assured that all such claims, once made before the appropriate authority, will be accepted or rejected only after a thorough investigation.”

Why did the controversy start?

In fact, a petition was filed in a court in Rajasthan alleging that the famous Sufi Dargah in Ajmer was built on the site of a Shiva temple. The court has accepted that petition. The Hindu side claims that Ajmer Sharif was built by demolishing the Shiva temple. There was a pond near the temple, which still exists today. Har Vilas Sharda’s book has been cited by the Hindu organization in this regard. (input language)
