There is going to be a big increase in the strength of the Indian Navy. India is soon going to confirm the purchase of 26 Rafale fighter aircraft for the Navy. Along with this, a deal for three more Scorpene submarines is also going to be made. Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi has given information about this on Monday. He has told that in the next month i.e. January itself, separate contracts can be signed for the purchase of 26 Rafale fighter planes and three Scorpene submarines.
Keep an eye on the navies of China and Pakistan
While talking to the media ahead of Indian Navy Day celebrated on December 4, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi has said that India is closely monitoring the activities of the navies of China and Pakistan. He has expressed hope that if not this month then next month the deal for Rafale fighter aircraft and submarine will be finalized and it should be signed.
Two nuclear submarines also approved
The Navy Chief has given another important information that the Central Government has also given approval for two nuclear powered submarines. It is planned to build a total of 6 such submarines. The Navy Chief has said that the first submarine to operate on nuclear energy will be ready by 2036-37 and the second by 2038-39.
62 ships and one submarine are being built
Only last year, the purchase of Rafale-M jets from France was approved by the Defense Ministry of the Government of India. These aircraft will be mainly deployed on India’s indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Navy Chief Admiral Tripathi has said that this is an agreement between the governments of the two countries, so it will not take much time. Along with this, he has also told that to increase the capability of Indian Navy, construction work of 62 ships and one submarine is currently going on.
Navy Chief also spoke on China-Pakistan
For some time now, many warships and submarines are being built by China for the Pakistani Navy. On this issue, Navy Chief Admiral Tripathi said – “8 new submarines will be a very important combat capability for the Pakistan Navy, but we are aware of their capabilities. We are aware of the amazing growth of the Pakistan Navy, which aims to become a navy of 50 ships. They have chosen weapons over the welfare of their people.
