Cyclonic storm Fangal has caused huge damage in many states. It is raining heavily in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry. This cyclonic storm has now affected rail traffic as well. Southern Railway has canceled many trains. An information has been issued regarding this.

Water level rises above danger mark

Incessant rains in Tamil Nadu have badly affected many districts across the state. The water level on Bridge No. 452 between Vikravandi and Mundiyampakkam railway stations has risen above the danger mark. For the safety of passengers, Southern Railway has canceled many express trains. The canceled trains include Vaigai Express, Karaikudi-Chennai Pallavan Express, Madurai Tejas Express, Chennai-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express and Chennai-Madurai Tejas Express.

These trains were canceled

  1. Train No. 20627 Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express scheduled to depart Chennai Egmore at 05:00 hrs on 02.12.2024 is completely cancelled.
  2. Train No. 22671 – Chennai Egmore – Madurai Vande Tejas Express scheduled to depart Chennai Egmore at 06:00 hrs on 02.12.2024 is completely cancelled.
  3. Train No. 06025 – Chennai Egmore – Puducherry MEMU, scheduled to depart Chennai Egmore at 06:35 hrs on 02.12.2024, has also been cancelled.
  4. Train No: 22675- Chennai Egmore – Tiruchirappalli, Cholan Express scheduled to depart Chennai Egmore at 07:45 hrs on 02.12.2024 is also completely cancelled.
  5. Train No: 06028- Villupuram – Tambaram MEMU Passenger, scheduled to depart Villupuram at 05:20 hrs on 02.12.2024, is also completely cancelled.
  6. Train No. 16116 – Puducherry – Chennai Egmore Express, scheduled to depart from Puducherry at 05:35, is completely canceled on 02.12.2024.

Changed routes of these trains

  1. Train No. 16866 – Thanjavur – Chennai Egmore Uzhavan Express, which departed Thanjavur at 21:55 hrs on 01.12.2024, is diverted via Villupuram, Katpadi, Chennai Egmore with stoppages at Melmaruvattur, Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam.
  2. Train No. 16180 – Mannargudi – Chennai Egmore Express, scheduled to depart Mangalore at 22:35 hrs on 01.12.2024, is diverted via Villupuram, Katpadi, Chennai Egmore with stoppages at Chengalpattu, Tambaram and Mambalam.
  3. Train No. 16176 Karaikal – Tambaram Express, scheduled to leave Karaikal at 21:20 hrs on 01.12.2024, has been diverted via Villupuram, Katpadi, Chennai Egmore with skipping stoppage at Chengalpattu.
  4. Train No. 20682 – Sengottai Tambaram, Silambu Superfast Express, scheduled to depart Sengottai at 16:50 hrs on 01.12.2024, is diverted via Villupuram, Katpadi, Chennai Egmore with skipping stoppage at Chengalpattu.
