One thing may disappoint the users of Redmi A4 5G. This new addition of the company will not support Airtel’s 5G network. Why so? We tell you. Actually, currently two types of 5G networks exist in India. Airtel has rolled out 5G NSA (5G Non-Standalone) for its users while Jio has rolled out 5SA (5G Standalone) for its users. In the specifications of Redmi A4 5G, the company has mentioned that the phone does not support 5G NSA. It has support for 4G + 5G SA network.

Smartphone manufacturing companies make two types of devices. There are some devices that do not support 5G SA. While there are some devices that come with 5G capability but do not support 5G NSA. TelecomTalk’s Report According to , Redmi A4 5G is also one such phone which supports 5G but it does not support its network type 5G NSA. Whereas Airtel provides only 5G NSA network in India. Let us tell you what is the difference between the two networks, and what are their advantages and disadvantages.

What is 5G NSA?
As the name suggests, NSA network means Non-Standalone Network. According to AirtelThis is a network that cannot run on its own. It is a Radio Access Network (RAN) that runs with the help of a 4G LTE core called EPC (Evolved Packet Core). EPC is primarily the framework on which 4G networks run. And 5G NSA runs with the help of this 4G EPC.

Benefits of 5G NSA
5G NSA is used by most of the companies in the world because it is a low-cost 5G network. This is because it can be activated on already existing 4G networks. For this, the company does not need to install a separate 5G core. It is very easy to start it because telecom companies have been aware of it for a long time and experts have complete knowledge of it. Also, it can be rolled out very fast because companies already have a large infrastructure of 4G.

Disadvantages of 5G NSA
It cannot deliver low-latency. It consumes more power because it works with two types of cellular networks. In the initial stage it is not able to deliver the pure form of 5G.

What is 5G SA?
5G SA simply means Standalone 5G Network. That means a network that runs on its own. It does not require a 4G core to run. To deploy 5G SA, the company has to create a completely new infrastructure. It uses 5G radio access network. It delivers low-latency, and gives better network performance.

Advantages and disadvantages of 5G SA
Compared to 5G NSA, its power consumption is less. It delivers low-latency. It also increases the bandwidth cap. Talking about the disadvantages, it is very expensive to deploy 5G SA because for this the company has to prepare a new infrastructure. It is not easy for experts to learn its operation so it takes time. It is very difficult to roll it out in a new area because there is no existing infrastructure on which it can be run.
