American sprinter Noah Lyles has won the gold medal in men’s 100 meter race in athletics at Paris Olympics. He completed the race in 9.79 seconds. With this, USA has won the gold medal in 100 meter race after 20 years. In 2004 Athens Olympics, America’s Justin Gatlin had won the gold medal in this category.

On Monday night, Jamaica’s Kishanne Thompson (9.79 seconds) took silver and USA’s Fred Curley (9.81 seconds) took bronze. Lyles finished the race in 9.79 (.784) seconds and Thompson in 9.79 (.789).

America number 1 in Olympic tally
In the Olympic medal tally, the US team is number one by winning 19 gold, 26 silver and 26 bronze medals. China is at number two and France is at number three.

India is ranked 57th with 3 medals. Manu Bhaker won bronze medals for India in the women’s individual 10 meter air pistol event, the pair of Manu and Sarabjot Singh won bronze medals in the 10 meter air pistol mixed team event. Swapnil Kusale also won bronze in the 50 meter rifle three position.

Noah’s professional career
In 2017, Noah won his first Diamond League title in the 200m race. After this, in the year 2019, he won the gold medal in the 200m and 4 × 100m relay at the World Championships. In the year 2020, Noah won the bronze medal in the 200m race at the Tokyo Olympics. In the year 2022, he won the gold medal in 200m and the silver medal in the 4 × 100m relay at the World Championships. In the year 2023, he won gold in 100m, 200m and 4 × 100m relay at the World Championships.
