Mysterious death of sub-inspector in Karnataka, wife alleges – Congress leader was demanding Rs 30 lakh to stop transfer

The death of a police sub-inspector in Karnataka has sparked controversy. The deceased policeman’s wife has alleged that the Congress MLA and his son mentally harassed him by demanding bribe to stop his transfer. An FIR has been registered against the MLA and his son on the complaint of the sub-inspector’s wife. The Karnataka government has handed over the investigation of this case to the CBI.

The case is from Yadgir district of Karnataka. Here a 34-year-old police sub-inspector died of a heart attack on Friday. His mysterious death has raised a big controversy. The PSI’s wife Shweta has now accused Congress MLA Chennareddy Patil Tunnoor and his son of mentally harassing her husband and demanding Rs 30 lakh to stop his transfer.

Following the death of 34-year-old Parashuram, his wife Shwetha lodged a complaint at the Yadgir Town police station and along with Dalit organisations staged a protest demanding an FIR and a thorough probe into her husband’s death. The Yadgir police have registered an FIR under Sections 352,108,3(5) of the BNSS and Sections 3(2)(v),3(1)(r)(s) of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

BJP demanded a fair investigation

Politics has intensified over this matter and the BJP has attacked the government over the death of the Dalit officer and has demanded a fair investigation into the matter. Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has ordered an investigation into the matter. After the demand for a fair investigation, the case has been handed over to the CBI.
