After the cloudburst in Kedarnath, a large number of devotees are trapped between the mountains. Due to landslides caused by heavy rains, the roads have been closed. Landslide debris is also flowing with the rainwater and everything that comes in its grip becomes a part of it. In such a situation, SDRF personnel are continuously engaged in rescue operations and are rescuing people and taking them to safe places. To rescue the passengers stranded on the Kedarnath Yatra route, SDRF Uttarakhand personnel carried out rescue operations till late night and safely brought 450 passengers from Munkatiya area to Sonprayag. So far, more than 2200 passengers have been safely evacuated by foot. The rescue operation will continue continuously.
A group of 50 people from Mumbai had left for the Char Dham Yatra. All the people got stuck while returning after visiting Kedarnath. All were rescued by helicopter. 18 people from this group are still stranded. All the people have been kept in Sersi after rescue. People are being brought to the Sersi helipad after being rescued. More than 300 people have been rescued since morning. People stranded in Sonprayag and Gaurikund are being brought on priority basis. In this, efforts are being made to rescue women and children first.
Gulab Koti Badrinath National Highway disrupted at night
The Badrinath National Highway is blocked near Gulab Koti since around 9 pm and let us tell you that where the Badrinath National Highway is blocked, vehicles of pilgrims and local people are seen stranded on both sides. Local people and pilgrims have accused the concerned department of negligence. The department’s machine suddenly broke down while removing the debris from the blocked road, due to which there was an atmosphere of anger among the pilgrims and local people.
The situation is such that the Gulab Koti-Badrinath National Highway has become a problem for people at this time. From pilgrims to local people, everyone is seen traveling on foot on the Gulab Koti Badrinath National Highway, risking their lives.
